10 Reasons Why Youth Activity Clubs and Outdoor Play are Essential for Child Development

The Importance of Youth Activity Clubs and the Outdoors

The Big Summer Survey revealed that only 49% of kids attended youth clubs during their summer holidays. While this shows that half of the children are engaged in organised activities, it also highlights that there’s much room for improvement.

Our goal is to reach more of Manchester’s youth, providing them with quality, structured activities that make their summer memorable and enriching.

Why This Matters

Youth clubs and organised activities are crucial for children’s development. They provide a safe space for kids to socialise, learn new skills, and build confidence. At our summer holiday clubs, we meticulously plan our programs to ensure every child has an engaging and supportive environment whilst experience as many activities as we can provide. Our pre-camp timetables offer clarity, transparency, and structure, giving parents peace of mind and children a well-rounded experience.

Our Commitment

We plan all year round to create an unforgettable camp experience. Our activities are designed to be fun, educational and high-energy, fostering a sense of community, personal growth and it ‘Keeps Kids Moving‘. By increasing participation in our clubs, we aim to support more children in having a fulfilling and dynamic summer through our holiday activities.

Outdoor Fun: A Vital Part of Childhood

The survey also found that 75% of children regularly played outside, which is encouraging. However, it’s concerning that 6% of kids rarely get outdoors. Outdoor play for children is essential for both mental and physical well-being. It helps children stay active, reduces stress, and boosts creativity and social skills.

Our Solution

We understand that finding time for outdoor activities can be challenging, so we strive to make it as effortless as possible. To help ensure every child has the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, we’ve created a simple Weekly Outdoor Activity Checklist for Busy School Days. This checklist includes quick, simple, and free ways to get outside, making it easy for even the busiest families to incorporate outdoor play into their routine.

We believe that every child should have the chance to explore and play outside, regardless of their usual habits.

By joining our children’s holiday clubs in Manchetser, your child will have access to a variety of organised activities and outdoor adventures. We are committed to providing an environment where every child can thrive, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
