Katy Ferguson

Setting Leader @ Urmston Primary

“I am a qualified nursery nurse and have 15 years of experience caring for children ranging from 0-6 years of age. I have worked in various roles within the childcare sector, including nursery management, which has given me the skills to provide a consistently safe and nurturing environment for the children.

I love working with children, and I am passionate about being a positive role model. I feel it is important for children to have a good start in life-whilst being able to learn and be inspired through play.

I aim to provide an enriching environment where children can learn and grow and give parents and carers peace of mind that their children will be happy, safe, and content whilst in our care.

An interesting fact about me is that I was once the zookeeper for the day at Blackpool Zoo.

Ashlea Brewin

Senior Playworker @ Urmston Primary

“I have been working with children for 6 years, primarily as a dance teacher and sports coach but also in a childcare setting through charities and buddy programmes at school. This experience provided me with the knowledge and confidence to work in our setting at School of Play UPS. My aim for the children at is to feel they are in a safe, supportive, creative and most importantly fun space where they can experience new activities and develop skills that will continue to help them grow. I am passionate about being a positive role model in the lives of the children we teach and hopefully assisting them in getting the best out of their experience with us.

I aim to provide an excellent childcare service by interacting with the children and nurturing their skills through play and creativity. I am excited to get to develop in the company as we grow in the future.

An interesting fact about me is that I once auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent with my dance troupe.

As a senior playworker here at UPS, feel free to contact me with any queries you may have.”

Playworker @ Urmston Primary / Social Media Creator

I am a qualified dance and gymnastics coach, and I have been working with children for four years. I have gained valuable experience through coaching, and it has inspired me to provide support to children throughout their education and development, in fun and active ways.

I aim to provide children with the means to be creative, active and overall have a great start to their future. I also want to provide a comfortable environment where they feel safe and free to express their thoughts and emotions.

An interesting fact about me is I was once a volunteer in Thailand, teaching English, and I was part of a turtle conservation project. I also spent a year living in San Francisco working as an Au Pere.

If you have any ideas about our social media and marketing content or would like to see your child used on our channels more often, don’t hesitate to contact me using the link below. I would love to hear from you!”
