How to Book onto HAF Camps
Below is a clearer step-by-step guide you can use for parents when explaining how to book onto HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) camps.
1
Create a GO Account
Parents must first create a family account on the GO booking system.
Steps:
- Go to the GO booking website.
- Create a family account in the parent/carer’s name.
- Add each child to the account with their details.
2
Book onto Sessions
Once the account is created:
- Browse the available HAF camp sessions.
- Select the sessions you want to book.
- Proceed to checkout.
3
Eligibility Check
When booking, the system runs a background eligibility check.
It checks the child’s:
- Surname
- Date of Birth
- Postcode
These details must exactly match the information held by the child’s school.
Common issues include:
- Recently moved house (postcode mismatch)
- Hyphenated surnames
- Spelling differences
- Different parent/carer details recorded at school
Information we need to know on our side.
- HAF places open to anyone 48 hours before so we need them full by then so that it doesn’t go to children who aren’t eligible for it.
- This ensures places are reserved for eligible children first, rather than being taken by non-eligible bookings.
- Oversubscribing an option once we fill spaces so we get 60 turn up.
Promotion
How we could advertise these:
- School communications
- School Coffee mornings next week? – Or ASC Inflatables while we chat it through with parents?
- Leaflets
